Product Description

What is the role of Rotary Burrs?

Tungsten carbide burr rotary file bits are rotating tools used to remove material. They are designed to rotate at extremely high speeds, enabling them to manipulate the material being processed. When using metal, burrs are very suitable for deburring, shaping and reaming. Tungsten carbide rotary files can be used on all metals, including steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Metal manufacturers and engineers usually use them to make tools, model engineering, jewelry manufacturing, welding, deburring, grinding and engraving.

Why do we recommend tungsten carbide burrs?

  • High mobility

  • Very suitable for deburring, forming, welding and leveling, reaming, engraving and finishing

  • Last longer

  • Performing in the heat

  • Suitable for all metals

  • Where tungsten carbide burrs can be used on any metal, there are different cutting methods suitable for different metals, please see below.

The difference between double slot and single slot:

The double groove has a cross pattern, which is suitable for low-density objects. For example: used for wood, plastic, aluminum, etc.! The cross pattern has a fast chip removal speed, and it is not easy to block the pattern when grinding and engraving, so it is more suitable to open a double groove on a soft object!
The texture of the single groove determines that it is not ideal to use softer objects, because when the single groove knife is working and cutting, the broken waste will easily block the groove, resulting in shallower groove texture and reduced cutting ability; this is what we often say, The knife is not fast! Single slot is more suitable for iron, copper, steel and other hard objects.

Carbide rotary file features:

Cemented carbide has a series of excellent properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, good strength and toughness, and heat resistance, especially its high hardness and wear resistance, which remain basically unchanged even at a temperature of 500°C. It still has high hardness at 1000°C.
Cemented carbide is widely used as tool materials, such as turning tools, milling cutters, planers, drills, boring cutters, etc., for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastics, chemical fibers, graphite, glass, stone and ordinary steel, and can also be used for cutting resistant Hot steel, stainless steel, high manganese steel, tool steel and other difficult-to-process materials.
1. High hardness (86~93HRA, equivalent to 69~81HRC);
2. Good hot hardness (up to 900~1000℃, keeping 60HRC);
3. Good abrasion resistance.
The cutting speed of cemented carbide tools is 4 to 7 times higher than that of high-speed steel, and the tool life is 5 to 80 times higher. Manufacturing molds, measuring tools, life span is 20-150 times longer than alloy tool steel. It can cut hard materials around 50HRC.

Cutting type:

Metal burrs can be cut in single/aluminum or double/diamond. The large single/aluminum cutting carbide file has a right-cut spiral groove and can be used for cast iron, steel, copper, brass and other iron materials (such as aluminum). Single-edged burrs can provide faster cutting speeds without clogging (aluminum is often clogged), but its polishing effect is not as good as double-edged carbide burrs. Double/diamond cutting has a left-right cutting function, which can provide faster and more refined processing results. These are usually used for steel, stainless steel and other hard metals.

Matters needing attention:

1. Mainly used on electric or pneumatic tools.
2. The speed is generally 6000-50000 rpm.
3. When using, the tool should be clamped upright, and the cutting method should be up-cut milling to avoid reciprocating cutting.
4. To prevent chip splashing during work, please use protective glasses.
